Lower blood pressure naturally

Are you looking for the ‘thing’ that naturally lowers blood pressure? Have you considered your worship style?

First, before we get into the discussion about your worship style, I have good news and bad news.

I’ll start with the bad news. There is absolutely NO one magic bullet for reducing blood pressure. It doesn’t exist.

Not a perfect medication, nor a sure-fire natural method.

Everyone’s experience in finding what helps them will be completely different. What works wonders for one person – may not work for another.

That is true when using medication or natural methods.

And the thing is, finding the item that will reliably lower your blood pressure without medication requires a consistent approach to a strategy or, most often, a group of strategies. That said, many times, it is nothing more than a consistent process of trying something to see if it will work. Basic trial and error.

The bottom line is that doing nothing to reduce your blood pressure is not safe.

So, as you’ve probably realized, one of the primary reasons medication is used is because high blood pressure carries serious health risks, and it is hard for most people to apply non-medicinal methods consistently.

But I do have good news, too. God guides us in the Bible to help us with our healing and wellness journey.

Wellness Guidance in Scripture

To be transparent, if you search the Bible text for ‘lower blood pressure naturally’, you won’t find it.

But, some verses can guide us to wellness.

In fact, if you are feeling like you should be taking better care of yourself or are feeling led by the Lord to take better care of yourself, there is a way to do so in a way that honors the Lord. I will get to that in a minute, but first, let’s start with the Scripture.

Romans 12:1 reads, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship.” (NIV).

This verse speaks to actively living out your faith with your body. Taking proper care of yourself is a way to obey God’s request.

When you obey the Lord, you are obedient to Him. When you offer your body as a living sacrifice, you show worship to the Lord.

Thus, your self-care efforts can be a form of worship to the Lord through obedience to honor him.

But, you may be wondering, what does that mean specifically to offer your body as a living sacrifice? What self-care is holy and pleasing to God? It is treating your body like the holy temple that it is. (see verse 1 Cor 3:16).

What Does a Worship Style to Lower Blood Pressure Naturally Look Like?

Treating your body as a holy temple means providing yourself with care that is holy and proper and helps you live at your greatest level of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. It’s a spiritual commitment to take better care of your physical body.

This doesn’t require a ‘perfect’ state of health. You can be well, even when you do not have perfect health. Even so, it is a true and proper way to worship God.

You can make a spiritual offering and commitment by making real changes to your lifestyle.

All of the lifestyle changes listed below have been proven through scientific research to be a successful part of a plan to lower blood pressure naturally.

I will not say that it is easy, but it is beneficial, and doing so will help you show honor to the holy temple, your body.

10 Lifestyle Changes to Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

If you are able to control your blood pressure with a healthier lifestyle, you may avoid, delay, or reduce the need for any medication.

  1. Lose extra pounds – aim for a 10% weight loss.
  2. Get a little exercise regularly.
  3. Eat a healthy diet.
  4. Reduce sodium in your diet.
  5. Limit alcohol.
  6. Quit smoking.
  7. Reduce caffeine.
  8. Manage (lower) stress.
  9. Monitor your blood pressure at home.
  10. Follow your health provider’s advice.

In closing, it is always difficult to make lifestyle changes to care for yourself and feel better.

But, choosing a couple of changes and doing them consistently to show worship, honor, and praise to God is a helpful and motivating way to do the things required to lower your blood pressure naturally and reduce your risk for heart disease.

You can do it!
